Thank you for choosing to submit an online application. The link at the bottom of this page will take you to the application page.

Application Process

Submitting an online application is free and implies no obligation. The commitment happens after both parties sign the Housing Agreement.

Housing spaces are offered based on the applicant's move-in date. Priority is given to those applicants who need housing first. For example, those who need housing on July 15 will be placed before those who need housing on August 1. We cannot book anyone into an apartment more than two months in advance.

In your application, you will indicate the date you would like to move in to your apartment. Housing Services will contact you six to eight weeks in advance of this date. Initial contact is by e-mail. When we contact you, we will be able to tell you exactly what is available for your move-in date. Tours of actual apartments may not be available if the apartment is occupied by current tenants.

If you do not hear from Housing Services six weeks prior to your move in date, feel free to contact the appropriate Housing Services office.

After you have selected a space, we will email you your Housing Agreement. You will have 7 days to review it and return it to us. A non-refundable intial rent payment equal to one full month's rent is due with the submission of your signed Housing Agreement. This guarantees your reservation with Housing Services. When you move-in, the initial rent payment will cover your pro-rated first month's rent. Any remaining balance will be credited to your account for the following month's rent.

Application Tips

Please follow the guidelines listed below to ensure your application is processed properly.

1) Use the following web browsers when filling out your application. Our application is not compatible with different browsers.

Windows Users: Microsoft Internet Explorer
MAC Users: Netscape. Download Netscape Navigator for Free.

2) Be sure to use four digits anytime you fill out a year (e.g., use 1970 instead of 70).

3) Do not use hyphens anywhere in the application (including names).

4) Make sure all required fields are filled out. If your address is outside of the United States, put "California" for the "state" field.

5) Please submit only one application, regardless of where you want to live or what type of accommodation you want. Duplicate applications may result in a longer response time. If you'd like to updates or make changes to your application, please send an email to housing@ucsf.edu

6) While in the application process, please avoid clicking on the "Quit" button. Instead, when you have completed the application, use the links in the orange margin to visit our site. Thanks.
