An important message regarding parking, from UCSF Parking Director, Erick Villalobos

July 27, 2017

Dear Premier Members:

I would like to take a moment to provide you with an update on our Mission Bay Rutter Garage infrastructure upgrade project and forthcoming debit-card program.

The new Premier member parking fees will start on July 1, 2017, as previously announced. We are upgrading all campus garage locations with new fee control equipment and software, which includes cash registers, self-pay credit card machines, gate controls/arms and pay-on-exit credit card units.  We’re very excited about the new system, as customers will be able to exit our garage facilities with more ease.

Unfortunately, we have encountered a few issues with rolling out the pre-paid debit card portion of the plan. This feature will not be available until mid-July. We will send a follow-up e-mail to confirm the deployment date of the debit card program and announce when we’ll start to sell the debit cards.  **The debit-card program is an entirely new parking service amenity that we are specifically implementing for Premier members.**

You may continue to validate your garage parking ticket at Bakar Fitness Center. You will have three options to pay for parking fees:
1.  Before returning to your vehicle, pay at the self-pay credit card stations (located at the Rutter Center entrance near the elevator;)
2.  Provide the on-duty cashier with your ticket and pay via cash/check or credit card;
3.  Drive up to any exit lane and use the new self-pay exit station near the ticket booth. Insert your ticket and use a credit card to pay (coming soon).

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we implement our new system.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns related to our parking services.

Regards,

Erick Villalobos
